Better relationship between Canada and the USA

The first international business trip of Barack Hussein Obama (D) was to Canada and  the 44 U.S. president said that he’ll be back when the weather was warmer – the winter is cold  here .

That’s right, you read correctly. He said that after a press conference of four questions with the Prime Minister Stephen Harper (C)) and the media (which eventually became 45 minutes). The most important point of conversation for both Canada and the U.S. was to help themselves more during this difficult economic time (more for Americans than for Canadians). The leaders talked about the American future agreements and the most impressive of them – after the ‘Bush’ era – offering an union to create clean energy and to cut greenhouse gas emissions.

The security around Ottawa (Canada’s capital) was severe, elite shooters, sniffer dogs to all sides. A tighter border was one of the items that Stephen Harper didn’t forget to mention during the press conference, something that Canadian exporters do not want to hear about.

Thousands of Canadians and Americans travel to the Canadian capital to see the  American president. Obama thanked the Canadians who crossed the border and thickening and helping his presidential campaign.

It was a very interesting night with family and friends watching a historic win of a presidential election by a black man, or an African-American as the politically correct would say it. I’m very  happy about the whole scenario because my son and his best friend watched  the biggest powerhouse in the world had elected mr. Obama.  We bought pizza, we had some wine and we watch closely to the numbers on the screen at a house of friends. CNN, CBS, CBC and, of course, Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show. It was a very positive to have a change on the political views and actions.

All over Toronto people in general were located in pubs, cinemas, homes watching and expecting what seemed impossible before the Democrats presidential campaign. Bloor Cinema had at least 100 people outside waiting to get in during the official counting of  the votes, the same thing with Plaza Flamingo, on College St. André and his friend Blake won’t notice the change, because they’re three years old, but his parents will know exactly what happen, the turning point on history.

Heavy burden

The democrats are getting into an abyss, or economical depression left by the Republicans . There are predictions US will get wicker and Canada is following his big rich Big Brother from South of the border. Maybe the Canadian Conservative Party didn’t know better what was coming, and there are talks about NAFTA, again…

For now everything is good, the world is celebrating Obama’s victory and that will change thoughts of democracy, a new democracy.

Obama is getting an almost bankrupted country, buried in a mud of the Afghanistan conflict , which will suck finances from the US government ‘account’. The war machine will leave a long bill that probably will be left to the  next generations to come to pay for it.
